Our team of incoming receivers, quality inspectors, fish cutters, shippers and administrative staff are among the most experienced in the industry. They come with significant experience from many of the largest and most well-known fish processors in New England and have provided Boston Bluefin with capabilities that few other fish processors in the Boston area have. Food safety is a mission critical part of our fresh fish and shellfish business at Boston Bluefin Inc. All of our products are rigorously and continually monitored as they enter, pass through, and are shipped from our facility.
Our buyers procure all of our seafood products from HACCP certified sources. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) is a comprehensive food-safety program designed to protect food from hazards. When you buy seafood products from Boston Bluefin Inc., you are buying from a facility that has HACCP certified employees. Our HACCP plan is regularly updated to help prevent any food safety hazards. We adhere to strict FDA guidelines for handling fresh and frozen seafood products and maintain full documentation of all HACCP records.
Our facility is routinely inspected by the Food and Drug Administration and annual inspections by several of our larger, national customers are also conducted. Internal HACCP procedures are regularly monitored by an external, third-party auditor as well as our internal HACCP Team.
We employ Country of Origin labeling (COOL) on all of our fresh and frozen seafood products so there is identification of where the products come from every day. In addition to our HACCP and COOL compliance standards, Boston Bluefin Inc. is also registered with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Boston Bluefin Inc. is in compliance with the registration requirements of the United States Food and Drug Administration's Public Health and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002.
We receive fresh seafood on a daily basis from around the world into our Boston, MA facility. The product passes through a documented quality assurance step before any further processing occurs. Any seafood not meeting our rigorous specifications is rejected.
Once products pass initial inspection, our experienced team of fish cutters processes each order. Before shipment, all items are consolidated in a temperature controlled environment and reviewed for accuracy. Your order is shipped on our refrigerated trucks, via common carrier, or on a number of different airlines that will maintain and secure the freshness and quality of your delivery.
